  • The length of time spent in our addiction detox program will vary between 5-10 days on average. The time spent highly depends on what substance you are detoxing from, whether it’s drug detox or alcohol detox and also the severity of your addiction.
  • Other variables such as physical health, prior substance abuse and severity of withdrawal symptoms are also closely considered by our medical staff. Our goal is to alleviate your withdrawal symptoms through proper medication and support to ensure you have a safe detoxification process that is as comfortable as possible.

When planning your intake to our facility, our dedicated admissions specialists will be able to provide you with a detailed packing list of approved items to bring during your stay.

Ohio Detox Center

The first phase at Lumiere is detox, if needed. The focus is on monitoring your body through the withdrawal by our professional medical staff. During this time, there will be three groups a day. Patients report to nursing for vitals and medications from 6-7 AM. Breakfast begins at 8 AM. Following breakfast there is a short break and a daily goals group to begin with a new start each day. After lunch, clients attend group sessions with licensed therapists. Additionally there are in-house 12-step meetings on a daily basis.

During the vital phase of detox, clients are also able to rest and relax as their body goes through the first process of beginning recovery. Patients are allowed one “needs” call during the first week.

Ohio Residential Treatment

Once you’ve been medically cleared from detox, the second phase of our program – our residential programming can begin. With a full schedule, each patient is able to jump into recovery head first. Upon waking, clients partake in activities of daily living. Following, each patient is served a healthy breakfast approved by the facilities Registered Dietitian. Throughout the day, clients are taken through evidenced-based programming to enhance and new skills, identify core issues that may have been driving their substance use disorder. Additionally, psycho-educational groups are provided to give each patient better insight into the addiction process and how they can enhance their recovery.

Each day, clients attend recovery focused outings and attend equine therapy two times per month. Family groups are also provided to better understand the dynamics of an altered family system due to addiction, and medical education is provided to better understand how substance abuse effects the body and brain.
