Outpatient Rehab Ohio

One of the hardest things you can do in life is admitting you have a drug and/or alcohol problem, then take the necessary steps to find treatment. When you find a center for addiction treatment in Ohio, such as Lumiere Healing Centers, your journey to recovery has just begun. You will go through four stages of recovery: treatment initiation, early abstinence, maintaining abstinence, and advanced recovery.

These stages were created by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and have helped countless individuals recover from addiction. All patients who are admitted into our care will go through the same four steps, but your experience will be different from that of those around you. With each stage, you will learn more about how to develop the right strategies to live a healthy, sober life.

Treatment Initiation

When you contact our center for alcohol rehab center in Cincinnati, you begin the first stage of your recovery. During this time, you may question whether you really need rehab. You may even think your problem isn’t as serious as those around you. We will work to help you get past those feelings of denial, as they will only impede your recovery. You will work with a counselor to help you maintain an open mind about the challenges you’re currently facing and the damaging habits that brought you here. We also inspire you to feel motivated about being here and more accepting of a life abstained from drugs and alcohol.

You will get the opportunity to work with a professional to create a custom treatment plan. Our team will gather information on you through medical examinations and assessments. We will also ask about your personal drug use history to come up with the best plan for your needs.

Early Abstinence

The second stage on your road to recovery is early abstinence, where you will undergo a process ofmedically supervised detox. You may find this to be the hardest stage, as it involves unpleasant and sometimes dangerous physical ailments from withdrawal. Therefore, it is imperative for you to seek medical supervised detox. You have nothing to worry about, though, because our staff will ensure your comfort and safety as well as monitor you through the entire process.

You will also experience some psychological turmoil as you crave the substance your body is so accustomed to receiving. This will be a difficult time during your addiction treatment in Ohio, but we guarantee you will gain a lot from it. We are here to encourage you, and this is a temporary experience if you trust the process.

For example, you will learn coping skills for when you’re back in the real world and experience cravings, psychological dependence, and triggers. You will learn:

  • Healthy activities to turn to instead of drugs or alcohol when you have cravings. The Lumiere Healing Centers Alumni Program is a great example of continued healthy activities.
  • All the triggers that push you into taking drugs and alcohol.
  • The benefits of joining a support group.

These coping skills will help you overcome obstacles to continue living a healthy lifestyle outside of rehab.

Maintaining Abstinence

After you have completed  Ohio drug rehab with Lumiere Healing Centers, the next stage, maintaining abstinence, will begin. Although rehab is over, you will still receive support from our trained professionals.

We know it may seem difficult to maintain abstinence, which is why we have an aftercare program and alumni program so you can stay connected with professionals and like-minded individuals after rehab.

  • Alumni support gives you the opportunity to reach out to a trained alumni manager to keep the line of communication open. The manager will be available when you need someone to talk to or help to overcome potential triggers.
  • An Alumni group is a weekly ongoing support group made up of your peers. You will be able to give and receive support as you listen to everyone’s stories. The alumni group also meets monthly and engages in fun, healthy activities.

No matter how involved you choose to be after your initial treatment has ended, you will always be connected to Lumiere as part of our family and support system.

Advanced Recovery

Approximately five years into your abstinence, you will reach stage four, advanced recovery. During this stage, you have effectively used the tools and coping skills you learned over the years to live a life free of addiction. In addition to sobriety, you are also a productive member of society, developing healthy relationships you lost or were unable to achieve during your addiction.

At Lumiere Healing Centers, our addiction treatment at alcohol rehab in Ohio hopes to get you through each stage successfully. With your hard work and motivation, we are confident you will reach stage four and beyond. To start your treatment to recovery, contact Lumiere at 513-714-3400.
